Regional Planning
This
PDF document has been put forward by the Qld. Gov't as a part of the regional
planning process, and covers 10 catalyst projects and 30 investment opportunities
in Brisbane city & hinterland, Moreton Bay & islands, and the SCENIC RIM.
There
are items about each area within the covered area that point to what is required
to promote tourism to a better degree. There are 10 references to Kooralbyn in
the document, andthree references are about the Kooralbyn-Boonah Tourist Road.
The other items covered are the lookout, the resort and the airstrip. To the time-deprived,
the references come on these pages, with the tourist road references shown in red.
Pages
33, 39, 41 (#10), 46*, 90, 97, 99 (#5.6), and
Page 100.
*46 refers, I believe, to a proposed viewing platform along the Tourist road, as there
is no other locale from where a vista back to Mt. Barney and the Gold Coast can
be had.
This
recognition of the tourism value to be gained from a road has partly been from
the SEQ West Regional Chambers of Commerce meetings that our chamber has been
attending, the Scenic Rim Regional Council, the Boonah Chamber of Commerce, submissions
made by individuals and the chamber to the Regional planning process, and common
sense.
Please
download the document and read about the future for the region from tourism.
